Purpose of the association:

Saint Luigi Scrosoppi (1804–1884) is the worldwide, official church patron saint of all footballers, football fans and stadium visitors. Luigi 1884 Fonds e.V. aims to implement significant and sustainable educational and sports aid projects in countries marked by migration (development aid, child welfare, promotion of education and sports) with the help of the global “motivational power of football”. This creates a platform on which young people can create their own livelihoods in their home country. Credo: Curb migration sustainably “at its root”. The raising of financial resources “for this grassroots aid” is especially undertaken by granding trademark licences in the form of a word-picture trademark or a word-brand to selected licence partners in various countries and sectors in return for payment. Luigi 1884 Fonds e.V. has not established its own aid organisations in countries from which migrants come. This is because the financial resources generated from granting licences to selected licence partners are transferred by Luigi Fonds 1884 e.V. to selected internationally active non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and non-profit organisations (NPOs), such as the globally active aid organisation Suore della Provvidenza (founder Luigi 1884). These funds are used to support local aid projects in the field of education and sport that, in future, will lead to an improvement in life prospects for children and adolescents.

Mission Statement:

Luigi 1884 Fonds e.V. is an independent association under Austrian law which exclusively and directly pursues charitable, benevolent or ecclesiastical purposes and whose activities are not aimed at making a profit. Luigi 1884 Fonds e.V. reports on the international activities of the Luigi 1884 Fonds e.V., in particular with regard to activities relating to the implementation of the association’s purpose.
