Forecasts show that ever-increasing waves of migration from Africa are rolling towards Europe. The United Nations (UN) already reported years ago that, according to its expertise, “400 million Africans” would leave for Europe. Luigi 1884 Fonds e.V. spares building its own aid organisations in the migrant country of origin. This is because the financial resources obtained from the licensing to selected licence partners are transferred by Luigi Fonds 1884 e.V. to selected international non-governmental organisations (NGO) and non-profit organisations (NPO), such as the\u00a0 globally active aid organisation Suore della Provvidenza (founder: Luigi 1884). These funds are used to support local aid projects in the field of education and sport that, in future, will lead to an improvement in life prospects for children and adolescents.<\/p>

On Friday, 5 December<\/b> 2025<\/b>, an event of international significance took place in the Church of San Valentino in Rome<\/b>, near the Stadio Olimpico: the ceremonial unveiling of the life-size statue of Saint Luigi Scrosoppi, the patron saint of footballers,<\/b> in the presence of His Excellency Archbishop Rino Fisichella<\/b>, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelisation and Coordinator of the Jubilee Year 2025.<\/p>

The statue was donated by the<\/b> board of the Austrian foundation Luigi1884 e.V.<\/b> as part of a purely charitable and socially oriented initiative.
